# RougeVin.

Shopify catalog and checkout welded onto a bespoke WordPress front-end via ShopWP - the best of both stacks for an independent wine boutique.

## The brief

The client wanted a bespoke design but with a Shopify backend for ease of product management and the best eCommerce features. The ShopWP plugin was the perfect solution to pull products from Shopify and render them in WordPress to allow for the bespoke design, while still using Shopify's robust cart and checkout system.

The website also needed to be extendable for future features like a wine club subscription and a B2B wholesale area, which the hybrid architecture allows for without needing to migrate platforms down the line.

## Scope

  • [x] WordPress front-end with Shopify ecommerce functionality
  • [x] ShopWP plugin integration for product sync
  • [x] Shopify checkout and cart embedded in WordPress website
  • [x] Wine Club subscription management
  • [x] Age verification gate
  • [x] B2B registration and wholesale pricing

## Hybrid architecture

ShopWP pulls products from the Shopify Storefront API and renders them inside WordPress templates - the cart widget syncs state via JS and hands off to Shopify's hosted checkout.
